Beyond Apocalypse

This site focuses on art set in post-apocalyptic worlds.

First project for the site is 'Wanderer', which is being made as a final project to graduate from school. As you can guess from this, there is no (game)company behind this site, just an individual with an strong interest in post-apocalyptic scenery.

Wanderer

Beyond Apocalypse: Wanderer is a FPS (First Person Simulation). Its goal is to create a detailed, living, believable post-apocalyptic world set in 3D, free to explore as one wishes.

To be clear: this is no game, there are no goals to achieve or a timelimit. Main focus is a realistic simulation of a possible futuristic world to explore with lots of atmosphere.

Planning and download

The first public beta of Beyond Apocalypse: Wanderer is planned to be released somewhere in the beginning of 2010. This first version will be quite limited in the explorable world for practical reasons and time (or rather, the lack of). However, future versions will be greater in content each time a new version is released.

Downloads shall be free and -as it now seems- will be available for Windows and Mac. The option to play the simulation with an Xbox 360-controller is also a possibility that's being explored. But, nothing is 100% sure at this moment.

[January 26, 2010] - As the way things look now, the very first demo will not be released publicly. It will only be used for presentation of the project at school, but besides that, it's not very suitable for a free demo.

To-do list

Some things to expect in the not so distant future:

- a 'Wanderer'-logo instead of the above logo that is a little too generic;
- screenshots of the post-apocalyptic world;
- concept art;
- a fully functional website.
